I have always loved vintage quilts – the stories they can tell, the tactile qualities, the almost meditative way of making them. I even created my first ever large scale quilt this past year. It was a lesson in learning new skills, patience, and the power of community. I loved it! So I took this idea of patchwork and different elements coming together and put them into the idea of a series of patchwork pieces. All individual monoprints that come together into this one work. A truly one of a kind piece, a labor of love. Each of these squares can tell a story, a time, an idea. They all seemingly patched together to create a whole.
